What to expect on a sunday morning
Our typical Sunday Service lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes, but we love for people to hang out after to get to know each other better.
When you first arrive
You will be greeted at the door by one of our members. Our members are very friendly, so don’t be surprised if you are welcomed by more than just our greeters at the door!
Where will my kids go?
For parents, you can check your kids into our KidZone at our Check-In Station located downstairs, starting 15 minutes before the service. Find out more about VCCKids.
Our typical order of service
Our service gets started with a worship song. Our music is contemporary, and the words are projected on a screen overhead, so everyone can follow along.
After a short welcome, we’ll pray for the service and then collect the offering. (By the way, the offering is for the members of our church, so we encourage visitors not to give; you’re our guest!)
We’ll then hear a teaching that is Bible-based and addresses real-life issues.
We close our services with a few more worship songs and an opportunity to receive prayer from our Prayer Ministry Team.
Dress
However you feel comfortable. In general, we’re casual (jeans or shorts and t-shirt are fine), but some people dress up more.
Hang out awhile after!
We know it can feel awkward to hang out after the service is over, but if you can hang in there, we'd love to get to know you!! Again, our members are pretty friendly, so you likely won't have to wait long until someone comes over to say hi.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be put on the spot? “Hey… there’s the new person!”
We understand most people appreciate being welcomed but don’t want to be put on the spot. So don’t worry; we won’t stick a nametag on you or draw unnecessary attention to you. We’re a very welcoming and personable community, so it’s likely that a few of our members will introduce themselves and show an interest in getting to know you a little.
Will my kids like it and be well cared for?
We love kids and believe they are just as valuable as the adults up in “big church.” We have a great kids program during the service where we provide a safe, loving, and fun environment for them to learn about Jesus on their level. All of our children’s workers love kids, are known and released to work with the kids through our leadership, and must pass a background check. Learn more about VCCKids.
Will you ask me for money?
We do take an offering, but it is only for those who are committed to our church. As our guest, please feel no pressure to give to the offering.
How should I dress?
However you feel comfortable. In general, we’re casual (jeans or shorts and t-shirt are fine), but some people dress up more.
What if I’m not sure my beliefs line up with yours, or I am still trying to figure out what I believe?
People checking our church out come from all sorts of places in their beliefs. We want everyone to feel free to be real — never to feel like they have to pretend to be something they are not. We accept one another that way, and even more importantly, God accepts each of us just as we are. We aim to be a place where people can be comfortable being themselves – whether that is to investigate what they believe, or to worship God freely.
